About Gibdyke Lodge Boarding Kennels & Cattery

People often ask us why we decided to run a boarding kennel and cattery, and sometimes we ask ourselves the same question!  For years we both worked in unfulfilling jobs to finance our dream to run a kennels and cattery.  Finally we started to live our dream and moved into Gibdyke Lodge in July 2002.

From the first day we had a clear vision of our goal - to do one job and do it extremely well...

  • We don't breed or show dogs
  • We don't breed or show cats
  • We don't run training classes for dogs
  • We don't run a pet rescue centre

We put all our efforts and attention into making Gibdyke Lodge the best boarding kennels and cattery in the area.

Since opening we have continually made improvements to pet accommodation and care, and will continue to do so until we are satisfied that we have attained our goal.

Everybody at Gibdyke Lodge earns their keep - Shadow, Ami, Freia and Cody are responsible for site security, while Lucky and Pesci have the important job of keeping the kennels free of rodent pests.  Being in open countryside this might otherwise become a problem.  We do not use any poisons for this as they could potentially be harmful to the animals in our care.
